In the last few months, I listened to The Magic Of Thinking Big by David Schwartz.
Overall, this was a very motivating listen, with some great action points and areas to consider.
The book's overall message is that it takes a similar amount of effort to get a mediocre outcome (compromising) vs achieving what you actually want, but the main difference comes down to clear planning and intentions.
Here are some points/moments that stuck with me as I listened:
You are a habit of people around you
Psychological diet - what content and thoughts do you consume?
Being a good worker to be a good leader
Have to study everyone, how can you learn mathematics from one small book?
A failure is a man who blundered but didn't find a way to capitalise on his experience
Mistakes are the cost of education,
Weakness addressing is another way to become a winner
If you don't use goals you don't have a framework to grow with
Nobody achieves more than they set out to
Switching from something you don't like to do vs what you do like is using a high horsepower engine
5 ways we kill what we really want to do
-Self depreciation
-Security (itis)
-Competition
-Parents Blaming
-Family Responsibility
Improving Homelife:
-Pay appreciation to little things family do
-Once a week do something special as a house
-Give an amount of undivided attention and time to family each day
