Winners Are Actually Good Losers

The other day as I was driving home, a really interesting though occurred to me.

I was thinking about how lots of successful people, and inspirational figures have been through lots of tragedies in life and they also tend to be able to sacrifice lots of comforts as well.

This led me to probe my thoughts a bit deeper. Why had other people who had been through similar tragedies perhaps not quite achieved the same level of fulfilment?

The answer to that is obviously multifactorial and would be unfair for me to answer alone.

But I did start to put a few thoughts together.

Here's what I came up with:

-Successful people learn to deal with failures and tragedy in ways that develop them, and use them as learning experiences. In this way, we can learn to accept setbacks with humility, and take a responsible mindset instead of a defeatist mindset.

-In pursuing a very difficult long term goal, we will have to make short term sacrifices. Whilst this may appear to be a loss in the short term, the delayed gratification, the journey and the goal itself are usually more rewarding.

And so, by accepting certain defeats with humility and making intentional short term sacrifices, people who are good at "Winning" are also good at "Losing".

Here's a shorter version of this explained on my channel:
